The classic 1960 CBS-TV special “The Sound of Miles Davis” has now been remastered for broadcasts on PBS stations nationwide. Miles’ 1959 quintet with John Coltrane (Tenor Sax), Wynton Kelly (Piano), Paul Chambers (bass) and Jimmy Cobb (Drums) perform tracks from “Kind of Blue” and other Miles standards backed by Gil Evans’ big band.
