CD/DVD 25th anniversary reissue of Paul Simon’s Graceland includes feature length documentary film.
Graceland. Paul Simon’s landmark Grammy-winner from 1986 (Album of the Year) explored the music of South Africa to create classics like “You Can Call Me All,” “Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes,” “Homeless,” and the title track (also Grammy winner for 1987 Record of the Year). Tours continued for five years and introduced the world to Ladysmith Black Mambazo other South African musicians, including a few who remained in Simon’s touring bands through today.
CD/DVD reissue for giveaways. CD includes original album tracks, outtakes from the Graceland sessions and a new audio narrative track about the recording sessions. Bonus DVD features feature-length Under African Skies documentary film directed by Joe Berlinger that premieres on A&E Network on May 25.
Free one-hour Radio Special. Features the classic tracks and outtakes from the reissue, rare live recordings from the Graceland tour, and insightful comments from the artist about the album’s creation and aftermath.
